If there's one thing that I'm confident about, it's my nose for good ideas. I'm not the guy who always has the best new ideas. I don't. But I have always been able to identify the best ideas from basically any random collection of stuff. I feel there is just some magical quality about some things that calls out to and makes me pay attention to them.
Scrum does that to me. I've been a project manager for more than a decade and seen quite a bunch of ways to manage a project, write a business plan on organize a team into action.
Out of all of those, Scrum is the one that gets me excited. I feel there's something fundamentally clever how Scrum has been put together. Done seriously, I feel using Scrum gives teams and organizations nearly unmatched chances of achieving something great compared to most other ways of organizing work.
This blog is a project to try living a life using Scrum.
No, wait, listen!
It does make sense.
Maybe.
The goal of the project is to try to find out. It’s an experiment (as all things should be)! I'll use this blog to plan new experiments, try stuff out and report the findings. Most probably there will be some general musings on Scrum thrown in as well and some book reviews too.
We'll see how it goes. Follow along and encourage or challenge me when needed.
This is #scrumlife.
